NBI Director Matibag meets Deputy Speaker Khonghun to strengthen public service, fight fake news

NEW National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Director Melvin Matibag paid a courtesy call to Deputy Speaker and Zambales 1st District Representative Jay Khonghun to discuss initiatives aimed at improving public service and safety in the region.
During the meeting, the officials reviewed plans for the construction of a new NBI building in Kalaklan, which is expected to enhance the agency’s services and local presence.
They also addressed the intensified campaign against fake news, emphasizing its detrimental impact on truth and public understanding.
Both underscored the importance of accountability, noting that individuals spreading misinformation should face legal consequences.
Deputy Speaker Khonghun and Director Matibag reaffirmed their shared commitment to upholding truth, justice, and order in society.
