Rep. Khonghun takes oath as Auxiliary Commodore of Philippine Coast Guard

DEPUTY Speaker and Zambales 1st District Rep. Jay Khonghun was formally conferred the rank of Auxiliary Commodore of the Philippine Coast Guard during a ceremony held at the PCG Headquarters on Wednesday.

The donning of rank and oath-taking were led by PCG Commandant Ronnie Gil Gavan, who administered the oath and awarded the honorary rank to Khonghun.

In his remarks, Khonghun described the recognition as a great honor that comes with greater responsibility to strengthen public service, promote marine protection, and assist communities, particularly during disasters and emergencies.

“This recognition inspires me to continue serving our fellow Filipinos and to support initiatives that safeguard our coastal communities,” Khonghun said.

The lawmaker also expressed gratitude to his family, especially Subic Mayor Jonathan Khonghun, for their unwavering support throughout his public service career.

He likewise thanked the residents of Olongapo City and the entire province of Zambales for their continued trust and support.
